Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase’s Stylish Hard Shell Design & Color Options

Let’s talk a little bit about the Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase‘s design. It is a spinner (meaning it has 4 wheels, not 2) and it has a hard shell, which has been my preference since I bought my first hard shell carry-on in 2017. I had been curious about them for awhile, so I purchased one to use on a 4 day winter trip to Washington, D.C., and I’ve never turned back!

I love that hard shell suitcases are durable and keep my items protected. I also love that they are, for the most part, water-proof, so I don’t have to worry about my clothes and electronics getting wet when I’m traveling in the rain or snow. The Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase, made from tough polycarbonate, definitely meets all my personal requirements, and it is incredibly stylish.

The suitcase also comes with a TSA-accepted lock that is easy-to-use!

I chose the “Ocean Blue” color because it is gorgeous and a color that my husband would enjoy using too. That being said, Chester offers a wide variety of colors that I loved. Here is a complete visual guide to the beautiful color options that Chester offers for their Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase.

Size, Weight, and Interior Details

Size: 21.5” x 13.5” x 8.5″. This meets most airline’s carry-on size requirements. Keep in mind that each airline has different guidelines (one size doesn’t fit all!). Here are a few of the airlines that we fly regularly with their carry-on baggage size allowances:

Southwest– 10″ x 16″ x 24″

United22″ x 14″ x 9″

British Airways22″ x 18″ x 10″

Weight: 7 lbs (or 3.17 kg). The fact that this suitcase is so lightweight is one of my favorite features! Weighing in at just 7 lbs, it’s officially the most lightweight carry-on suitcase that I’ve owned. While most airlines do not have carry-on weight restrictions, it is nice to travel with such a lightweight suitcase. It’s easier to navigate through busy airports, carry up stairs, and lift into overhead bins.

Interior Details:

There are several compartments inside the Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase. I love that the two large, main compartments are zippered off, which keeps items in place better than the traditional straps that often come inside luggage. There is also a zippered laptop sleeve and two smaller zippered compartments.

The suitcase comes with a garment bag, which I love! The material is also easy to wipe down.

Pack with Me for a Long Weekend!

Our Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase recently went on its first weekend adventure (the first of many, I will add)! If you know me, then you know that I never pack without packing cubes. I love them and just can’t quit them…and I really don’t want to. That being said, I love that the Minima Carry-On Spinner comes with several compartments, including several zippered sections. It would be possible to easily stay organized without packing cubes, but I still chose to use them.

I was easily able to pack for a long weekend, and as you can see, I still had plenty of room to spare. In the first large compartment, I was able to fit three packing cubes that held my sweaters, pants, blouses, socks, and underwear to last 3 days. I could have easily squeezed in enough clothing to last a week!

I’m convinced that the Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase + packing cubes = the perfect packing combination for organized, minimalist travelers!

In the second large compartment, I was able to fit two pairs of shoes (including a chunky pair of low cut boots), my international hair straightener, and my cosmetic bag. Once again, I had plenty of room to spare.

I was able to throw in my last minute items- such as my chargers, vitamins, favorite essential oils, a book, and laptop into the smaller zippered compartments. Once again- the suitcase wasn’t even close to being “full”.

I’ve never been much for hard shell rollers, but this one looks awesome! The straps that other companies put for one of the sides has never made sense to me, so I’m glad someone finally got rid of it and made it close. I think that’s one of the biggest draws to this case actually. The TSA lock is also a pretty neat feature as well. I just might have to look into trying out one for myself!

I’ve never considered using a hard case carry on luggage piece before, but I’m curious now. I rarely check a bag, so I’m always on the lookout for carry-on options. I would LOVE a pink suitcase! I love that the company offers a trial period so consumers can be sure that they really want it. So awesome.

I always use hard suitcases with spinner and therefore Minima Carry-On Spinner Suitcase by Chester looks perfect for me. It is good that the two large, main compartments are zippered off, to keep items in place. It is great that there is also a zippered laptop sleeve and two smaller zippered compartments where we can place our things nicely without mixing it up.

I got my first hard shell suitcase from Japan couple years ago, and it is about the same size as this. It is perfect for weekend getaways, or trips where I don’t need so many things with me. I have been so happy with it! This suitcase looks great, and seems like good quality. One thing I am always looking for is light weight.

What luck to have stumbled upon your post just when I was contemplating buying a new suitcase. I was actually thinking of a hard shell one. And since I have never used one, I was confused. After reading your review of the Chester’s Minima, this looks like a strong contender on my list. I love that they have so many colors to choose from. Plus it comes with a garment bag. Makes my life so much easier.

This looks like a great little carry-on. I love all the different compartments – very handy when you need to keep things separated. It looks pretty stylish as well, so many suitcases these days are dull and boring, nice to see one that has a bit of a flare.

I love the look of the Chester, especially because of the different colors and the zippered compartments. The hard shell is good for me because I’m tough on my luggage. I’d love an easy-to-wheel carryon piece like this one, that doesn’t get hassled at the gate. It looks really spacious for something so compact, too. Love it!

Great review!! I have always used hard suitcases weather it is a carryon or a checked in. The main reason why I use it is because I know that this kind of suitcase is going to provide much more protection that the normal material strollers. I have never used any of Chester suitcases but it sure looks like the one I currently have maybe a bit more spacious that mine.
