The Best Travel Strollers - An Adventure is Calling Blog

Parents who love to travel know that an easy-to-use, lightweight, compact stroller is an essential when traveling with a baby or toddler. I recently set out to find the best travel stroller for our daughter, who recently turned one year old. I spent countless hours researching our options, and I’m excited to share my findings with you, as well as info on the stroller we ultimately went with (and love!).

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. We only recommend products and services that we love!

My goal was to create an easy-to-read post that summarizes the best options, with pros and cons listed for each. I know that shopping for the best travel stroller can be daunting, and I found that most traveling parents thought that the stroller they used was the best choice (and I’m no exception, as you’ll read below!). This is good news, because it means that it is difficult to go wrong! There are so many great options out there, so it’s important to figure out which features are the most important to you, and go from there.

If you would rather skip the details, here is a quick summary of the best travel stroller options based on common criteria:

The Best Travel Strollers

Zoe XLC

I’m going to start with the one we purchased and highly recommend! The Zoe XLC is awesome!

Why I chose it and believe it is the best choice overall: Claiming that one particular stroller is the best overall is obviously an objective statement, but I’m happy to share why we ultimately chose this one for our family. This travel stroller met all of our criteria. We wanted a stroller that was lightweight and compact (small enough to fit in an overhead bin on airline). Two other non-negotiable features were a nice sunshade and a full recline option, so that our daughter could nap comfortably. We also hoped to spend around or less than $200. The Zoe XLC met all requirements with flying colors!

It is not the cheapest option, but it is very decently priced. It is not the most lightweight or compact, but it comes in second place to the Gb Pockit+! (The extra 1.5 pounds and extra inches were worth it for the deeper sunshade). Its volume is comparable to most of the other stroller options on this list.

Our daughter loves this stroller! We love that it meets our needs, and she is very comfortable in it (she takes amazing stroller naps!). We have been using it regularly for several months now, and it has held up very well!

The Best Travel Strollers - An Adventure is Calling- Zoe XLC

Pros

  • It is less expensive than other travel strollers with similar features (runs less than $150 on Amazon).
  • It fully reclines (our daughter takes great naps in it)!
  • It’s very lightweight (11 pounds) and compact when collapsed (22 x 17.5 x 6 inches).
  • It meets many airline’s carry-on size requirements.
  • The sunshade is very large and does a great job covering baby!
  • The Zoe XL2 model is a double stroller, which is also compact and great option if you have multiple little ones.

Cons

  • The basket underneath is quite small. This should be expected in an umbrella stroller, but some other travel strollers do offer larger baskets.

Babyzen YOYO+

The Babyzen YOYO+ is quite possibly the most well-known travel stroller, and travelers rave about how easy it is to use.

The Gb Pockit+ was the first travel stroller that I saw in person and fell in love with. My sister uses an older model for my niece and loves it. Like the other travel strollers, it is easy to use.

What a great list – I am sharing this with my brother and SIL who love to travel and have a baby!! We also love the UppaBaby GLuxe – thats what we used – great for travel domestically at least 😉

    • Leah

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully my research can help them out a bit. 🙂 I’ve heard good things about the UppaBaby! It isn’t as compact as the others, but I know it’s a great one if you aren’t looking for a overhead compartment option!

We have mostly outgrown the stroller, but occasionally still need it for the youngest. This is a great compilation of some great brands. I would have loved this post a few years ago for reference when we were trying to find a travel friendly stroller. Well done!

I remember picking out a stroller when our son was born, it’s such a hard decision with so many options. Love this list! I’m sure it will help lots of new moms pick the perfect stroller.

Great list really helpful. We have loved and abused our lightweight McLaren for travel. I’m really hoping we won’t have too many more trips with it.

    • Leah

I have heard good things about the McLaren! It sounds like a good option if you don’t want something that will fit in an overheard bin. My sister used that and loved it!
