I’m sharing a one week (7 day) itinerary of Kauai that includes the best beaches, hikes, and activities! It is an outdoor lover’s  and adventure seeker’s paradise! We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. We only recommend products and services that we love! I’ll start with highly recommending that you get a rental car, if at all possible. While there are several great options…

5 Reasons to Visit the Grand Canyon in the Winter

The Grand Canyon is a popular bucket list destination- and for good reason! It is stunning. My husband, baby girl, and I recently spent 24 hours on the South Rim (the North Rim is closed during the winter months). I had never been to the Grand Canyon in the winter, and it was perfect! We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. We only recommend products and services that we love! The summer months are the busiest at Grand Canyon National Park, but there are several reasons to stop by in the winter. We were there December 22-23 (the weekend right before Christmas), which is…

    Souvenir Ideas for Minimalists

Minimalism. What does that even mean? And what would souvenir ideas for minimalists include? For some, it means bare walls and only the bare necessities. For others, its about living intentionally and getting rid of excess material clutter. My husband and I live a pretty minimalist lifestyle (and I think most of our loved ones would agree!). We still have plenty of stuff, but we purge our material belongings often and like to keep things simple. We lived in a 450 sq. ft. studio apartment for the first two years of our marriage, and we never felt crowded. We now live in a two-bedroom home, and we constantly talk about…

Our Outdoor, Fall Wedding in Sonoma County, California

I walked down the aisle and said “I do” to my best friend 4 years ago. They have been the most amazing years full of love and adventure. Our day was perfect because we committed to love one another before God, our family, and our closest friends. I have been so blessed to have my amazing husband by my side ever since, and I can honestly say that I love him even more today than I did back then. Our day was captured by the very talented Emily Blake Photo. We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. We only recommend products and services that…

5 Places to Kayak in Sonoma County

Any kayaking fans out there? My husband and I have been kayaking together since our 4th date. At the time, we lived in Southern CA and would rent kayaks by the hour in Long Beach. Over the years, we have sought out kayaking (or other boating) adventures every time we traveled. We have kayaked with alligators in the Pearl River in Mississippi and in the Pacific Ocean under Coronado Bridge in San Diego. We’ve rowed in a beautiful Victorian-style wooden boat in the Avon River (in Bath, England) and paddled our way through the Wailua River (in Kauai). I could go on, but I think you get the point…my husband…

24 Hours in Toronto (in November)

Have you ever missed a connecting flight? In another country? How did it work out? This happened to me and my husband on our way to our babymoon in Paris. Our flight was a little delayed out of LAX, then we sat on the tarmac in Toronto for 45 minutes. After running through the airport while pregnant (something I wished I hadn’t done, in hindsight) and being rushed through Canadian customs, we (and about 10 other people from our first flight) arrived at our boarding gate 1 minute after they closed the doors. Our airplane was there, but we couldn’t get on it. We may earn money or products from…
