    The Lake District for Families

The Lake District is located in the county of Cumbria and is by far our family’s favorite destination in England. If you’re looking for the perfect place to plan a fun, adventurous, yet peaceful family holiday, look no further than the Lake District! The Lake District has a lot of activities for families, including toddlers. Our family of three recently spent a few days in the Lake District as part of our two week road trip through the United Kingdom. This was my first time visiting this beautiful part of England, and my husband deserves a lot of credit for suggesting it (he had been there once before), because it…

    Exploring London with Keetoo

London is one of my favorite cities! My husband and I love that it is filled with rich history, beautiful palaces, and relaxing gardens. Our family (including our 1 year old daughter) recently spent a few days in London as part of our two week trip to the United Kingdom, and we were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Keetoo while we were there! Keeto is an app (for both iPhones and Androids) that gives you incredible discounts on major London attractions. With Keetoo, you can save quite a bit of money by simply downloading their app. After downloading the app, you can purchase a Day Tripper…

    What to Pack in a Toddler’s Carry-On

Are you planning a trip with your toddler?! How exciting! Traveling with your toddler on an airplane, especially on your lap, may seem daunting. But let me help you prepare! Our daughter just recently turned one year old. She is incredibly mobile and never wants to be still, but she has been a great traveler so far. We have found that she doesn’t need a lot to stay entertained during travel- she truly just wants our company most of the time. But now that she is a little older, I do want to make sure I’m prepared on our long-haul flights (we have a several 6-10 hour flights planned within…

    The Best Travel Strollers

Parents who love to travel know that an easy-to-use, lightweight, compact stroller is an essential when traveling with a baby or toddler. I recently set out to find the best travel stroller for our daughter, who recently turned one year old. I spent countless hours researching our options, and I’m excited to share my findings with you, as well as info on the stroller we ultimately went with (and love!). My goal was to create an easy-to-read post that summarizes the best options, with pros and cons listed for each. I know that shopping for the best travel stroller can be daunting, and I found that most traveling parents thought…

5 Reasons to Visit the Grand Canyon in the Winter

The Grand Canyon is a popular bucket list destination- and for good reason! It is stunning. My husband, baby girl, and I recently spent 24 hours on the South Rim (the North Rim is closed during the winter months). I had never been to the Grand Canyon in the winter, and it was perfect! The summer months are the busiest at Grand Canyon National Park, but there are several reasons to stop by in the winter. We were there December 22-23 (the weekend right before Christmas), which is supposedly their winter “peak” days, but it was hardly crowded at all. The weather was cool, but we were comfortably prepared. The…

Back to the Future Filming Locations (& How to Dress Like Back to the Future Characters)

Any Back to the Future fans out there? Visiting Back to the Future filming locations can be really fun for true fans. I have personally visited a few of them, and it’s always exciting! I thought I would do something fun and different today, in honor of our family’s Halloween costumes this year. (Yes… we did dress our baby girl like Doc Brown.) Honestly, I’m not a big movie person, but the Back to the Future trilogy has always been my favorite. I have so many fond memories of watching the movies with my sister and grandma as a kid. I’ve seen it more times than I could ever count, and…

Camping with Baby: 5 Items to Take With You

Camping with your baby for the first time? If you’re like I was, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed with how to prepare. We took our baby girl camping for the first time when was 4.5 months old. I wasn’t really worried about her– I knew she would love it. She was a pretty good sleeper and loved being outdoors, so I knew she would be fine (ecstatic even!). Instead, I was worried about making sure I had what I needed to keep her comfortable and warm at night. The lows were around 40 F, and I was really worried about keeping her toasty for four nights in a…

20 Baby Registry Ideas for Traveling Families

Some people believe that they need to stop traveling when they start a family. I completely disagree! Traveling with a baby looks a lot different than traveling as a couple, but we have loved making memories with our sweet baby girl. She went on her first “stay-cation” at a beach resort at 8 weeks, her first out-of-state road trip to visit family at 10 weeks, and her first tent camping trip at 4.5 months. We haven’t stopped traveling and are looking forward to all of our upcoming adventures with her! When you’re expecting a baby, setting up a registry can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many great products…

5 Places to Kayak in Sonoma County

Any kayaking fans out there? My husband and I have been kayaking together since our 4th date. At the time, we lived in Southern CA and would rent kayaks by the hour in Long Beach. Over the years, we have sought out kayaking (or other boating) adventures every time we traveled. We have kayaked with alligators in the Pearl River in Mississippi and in the Pacific Ocean under Coronado Bridge in San Diego. We’ve rowed in a beautiful Victorian-style wooden boat in the Avon River (in Bath, England) and paddled our way through the Wailua River (in Kauai). I could go on, but I think you get the point…my husband…
